Ambassador Opportunities

This is a dynamic and engaging opportunity to help champion the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Call for Action by facilitating Indigenous learning resources for future generations.
— Charlene Bearhead, Director of Reconciliation, Canadian Geographic

The Naut’sa mawt Initiative relies on individuals to step forward and help champion this initiative as IPAC Ambassadors. During the IPAC Orientation Program, educators, facilitators and community leaders discover the vast opportunities to do more than just honour the Calls to Action for reconciliation, but to actually lead change by facilitating indigenous learning through interactive and dynamic programs. In doing so, we strive to develop stronger relationships with Indigenous peoples, build connections between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities and promote a better understanding of who we are collectively, how we came to this place and where we might go together.

To become an Ambassador, individuals must first identify a passion to be a part of a movement that seeks positive change. From there they just need to commit to completing a full day Ambassador orientation program. The objective of this program is to prepare individuals interested in championing reconciliation efforts, to serve as facilitators for the Initiative.

During this inspiring orientation experience co-led by local Indigenous elders and developed in conjunction with the National Indigenous Education and Reconciliation Network (NIERN and BCTF), The Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) and Can Geo, participants will engage in an exploration of the map and its incredible learning resources. Emerging from the program they will be ideally positioned to communicate the powerful learning opportunities this interactive floor map and educational resources offer.
