An Unforgettable Journey

The Naut’sa mawt Initiative provides a unique and powerful learning journey that is designed to challenge the lens through which we view Canada, our roles within our workplaces, our schools and our community. It also explores the many unconscious biases Canadians have and how we as individuals might overcome them.

Half and Full Day Programs

In our Half Day and Full Programs, participants will examine myths, misconceptions and facts related to:

  • First Nations Inuit and Metis communities,

  • Residential Schools,

  • Treaties and Indigenous Governance, and

  • Indigenous Languages.

Participants will explore strategies that:

  • Initiate and foster positive and respectful relationships with Indigenous people,

  • Support respectful and safe workplaces and learning environments,

  • Create reflection and inspire positive action.

Finally, participants will examine the:

  • the long-term inter-generational and cumulative impacts of colonialism,

  • the intended and unintended consequences of federal policy, and

  • the realities of the Indian Act.
