Naut’sa mawt Ideology arrives at School District 69
A profound event captures the attention of a large group of educators as elders of the Snaw-naw-as community told stories of their history and culture.

Actor Sam Bob {Tulkweemult} joined his father and RCGS Fellow Jim Bob to help lead a group of teachers and educators through the IPAC Ambassador Program.

Nanoose Bay Elementary promotes learning by doing and thereby develop independent, curious, self-advocating learners.
Forty-five educators and school liaisons recently participated in the IPAC Ambassador Program at Nanoose Bay Elementary. During the event Jim Bob and his son, Sam provided profound insights on community and partnership building. Nanoose Bay Elementary and School District 69 (Qualicum) reside on Coast Salish Territory and within the shared territory of the Snaw'naw'as and Qualicum First Nations.
Jim, who was inaugurated into the RCGS College of Fellows in 2022, is one of the original inspirations of the Naut’sa mawt Initiative. His son added a unique perspective illustrating how important it is to continue the message through each generation. Sam is a Vancouver based actor who has performed in TV, film, radio, and theatre. His family is from the Nanoose First Nations community on Vancouver Island. His mother is from Lyackson First Nation and his father Jim, is from Snaw-Naw-as First Nation. After residential school at Kuper Island he moved to LA and went there for grades 3-10 then moved back to Vancouver.

The program was well attended with community members from acroos the district attending the Ambassador training. Participants included teachers, administrators, police officers and local business operators.
