Another Group of Ambassadors Trained!

As the project gains momentum, the initiative sees more community leaders and educators stepping forward to serve as Ambassadors!

Anthony Cameron, Bill Nadeau, Jan Hendriks and Jim Bob led the Naut’sa mawt Ambassador training to a large group of elementary school educators.

With the assistance of the RCMP Indigenous Policing Services, West Coast Marine Section, School District 68 and of course our honourary Chair Jim Bob, we introduced the IPAC Ambassador Program to another cohort of educators in School District 68. What an honour to watch this group come together to celebrate the diversity of Indigenous languages and cultures.

After the program RCGS Fellow Bill Nadeau worked with School District administration to secure funding for a map kit of their own. Another success for the Naut’sa mawt Initiative.

Anthony Cameron from Indigenous Policing Services and WCMS member Jan Hendriks, both Ambassadors, review the various materials found in the IPAC kits. Orientations are important so that educators understand how to effectively use the kits, and keep them from collecting dust in the storage room.

The initiative continues to draw more and more educators to serve as ambassadors.

Honorary Chair Jim Bob speaks to Ambassadors-to-be. The impact of having an elder lead the experience is invaluable.
